We just got back from our four day trip through Iceland and all I can say is WOW. Everything in the country was a photographers/ videographers dream come true. It was an emotionally beautiful experience.
We spent our first night in Reykjavik and drove through the Golden Circle, which has three sights: Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss waterfall. You can choose to go either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Each stop is about a 45 minute drive apart, so you want to make sure you give yourself extra time to enjoy each scenery and take photos. Because the sun rises at 9am and sets around 6pm, we didn’t have enough time to make our last stop at the Gullfoss waterfall, but we made up for it on our second day. Along the way we got to see and play with Icelandic
Ponies Horses, which in my humble opinion are the most beautiful. They have over 80,000 horses around the country and are just for simple companionship.
At night we drove to the blue lagoon – one of the 25 wonders of the world. The drive is about 45 minutes north from Reykjavik and pre-booking is required. Ideally it’s nice to go during the day, so you can see its true beauty, but because we didn’t pre-book we ended up going during the night. The entrance is about $60 USD’s.
